Leading up to my three consecutive shows this summer I announced a price reduction on all my fine art print as a celebration of the shows. Well, sales were more successful than I anticipated so I’ve decided to make the new price reduction permanent. People tend to think that buying art is expensive but it really isn’t, hand signed and matted prints start at only $200 for an 11×14, that’s less than most mass produced copy art sold at frame shops and mass retailers.

Group Picture from the Yosemite in Fall Workshop

In my last newsletter (back in September) I was just getting ready to launch the first of my in-the-field workshops with my one-day sessions in both Mono Lake and Yosemite. Well, I’m excited to say that both the October 3rd workshop near Mono Lake and the November 7th workshop in Yosemite Valley were huge successes, both selling out quickly.

Both workshops were wonderful, filled with great people and beautiful locations. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The next in-the-field workshops on the schedule are my 2010 weekend workshops and they’ll off to a great start with the February Winter in Yosemite workshop almost already sold out (there’s 1 spot left).

My wife and I were on the freeway the other day and saw this dog with his head sticking out of the sunroof trying to eat the wind. It was Great!

A few days ago I had a chance to photograph one of my wedding couples for their engagement session, Leah and Michael.  We had a great time, Leah and Michael were wonderful to work with and were naturals in front of the camera.  I think this may be the beginning of a husband and wife modeling team.  Here are a few of the images from the session.

I was meeting with a bride yesterday and as we were signing the contract she mentioned how straight forward mine was.  I asked her how so and she told me she meet with another local photographer a few days before and wanted to read through their contract to which she found a number of strange fees, these are two that really stood out,

• Extra Charge if they have to use their flash XX number of times.
• Extra Charge if they have to hold the brides bouquet during any of the formal or group pictures.

What?  I couldn’t believe it.  The lesson here is to always read a contract before you sign it.  If you know anyone getting married be sure they watch out for something like this, so called “professional” photographers trying to hide escalators in the contract.
