My wife and I were on the freeway the other day and saw this dog with his head sticking out of the sunroof trying to eat the wind. It was Great!

A few days ago I had a chance to photograph one of my wedding couples for their engagement session, Leah and Michael.  We had a great time, Leah and Michael were wonderful to work with and were naturals in front of the camera.  I think this may be the beginning of a husband and wife modeling team.  Here are a few of the images from the session.

I was meeting with a bride yesterday and as we were signing the contract she mentioned how straight forward mine was.  I asked her how so and she told me she meet with another local photographer a few days before and wanted to read through their contract to which she found a number of strange fees, these are two that really stood out,

• Extra Charge if they have to use their flash XX number of times.
• Extra Charge if they have to hold the brides bouquet during any of the formal or group pictures.

What?  I couldn’t believe it.  The lesson here is to always read a contract before you sign it.  If you know anyone getting married be sure they watch out for something like this, so called “professional” photographers trying to hide escalators in the contract.

Hasselblad has some information regarding the first leg of the International traveling exhibition “Masters of Photography” in which I’m a part. Anyway, they have a couple pictures from the show on their website and you can see one of my pictures “Beauty Divide” hanging. I’ve been very curious as to how the show looks so this is pretty cool. Here is the image, I’ve circled my picture, I know it’s hard to see.

It looks like they printed everything as a 16×20 horizontal, that’s why the picture has the white boarders on it (it’s vertical).

I’m always looking for new ways to make it easier for people to start collecting both photography in general and my work in particular.  While brainstorming a few things with my wife the other day she mentioned “Mini prints are cool” and the more I though about it the more I think she’s right, mini prints are cool.  So for a limited time (I don’t know how long, maybe a while) I’m releasing an open edition of mini prints available in two sizes,

Each image is matted to current archival standards in white mat board and signed by me both on the mat’s front and reverso.

These mini prints work wonderfully in areas where wall space is limited or you can put a few of them together on a wall to make one larger display.

I had a great senior session yesterday with Tanya from Downey High.  We started in the studio then head to Knights Ferry for some great light and great images.  Tanya was a natural and very easy to work with.  Here are a few pics from the session.

Hasselblad Master 2009 Logo

I recently mentioned that I’ve been selected as a finalist for the 2009 Hasselblad Master award in Landscape photography.  This is one of the most prestigious awards in photography and I’m honored to have been named a finalist for a second year in a row.  I’ve just been told by Hasselblad this morning that my work will be part of the 2009 finalist traveling exhibitions.  The show will be traveling around the world for the five months, here is the exhibition schedule,
