Victoria, BC

September 11, 2008

I was up bright and early this morning and headed down to Second beach with the hope of getting some nice conditions for sunrise images. After having some very bad luck for most of the trip I was finally greeted with no fog and a lovely morning at one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. After a couple of hours I headed back to the room and we all headed to Port Angeles and a ferry that took us to Victoria BC (Canada). Here is a view of Port Angeles from the back of the ferry.

Once in Victoria we headed to the Empress hotel, its celebrating its 100th birthday this year and is the place to stay if money is no object.

Outside the hotel they have a couple of cool Dr. Suess like trees,

The inside is just as lovely as the outside with shops, galleries and afternoon tea, Sarah wanted to go to tea but at $100 a person it was a bit out of our price range. After spending some time in the hotel we headed to the shopping district where we found a certain man in black playing the violin, that’s right Darth Vader!

We also saw one of the world’s largest free standing totem pole carved out of a single piece of wood,

After a long day we headed back to the ferry and enjoyed a great sunset,

End of another day.

BONUS FOOTAGE! Sarah tried and crazy on the ferry,
